Fall Epsom Salt Craft

I saw this idea for the candle on Pintrest.com and fell in love! (here is the original blog post). I decided to do pumpkins too. I picked up the little foam type pumpkins at Big Lots for only $1 each! The candle happened to be 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby and the Epsom Salt was less than $3 at Big Lots! So all in all, an inexpensive centerpiece for my dining room table! (I also picked up a wire basket from Goodwill for $2, and am painting it a glossy chocolate to put all this in).

The tools you need are:

ModPodge

Wax paper

Spoon

A tray to put your Epsom salt in (i used a re-usable foil pan i had on hand)

Foam Brush

Epsom Slat

Items to make sparkle!

Here it is all layed out. I used the wax paper to put the items on after i put the Epsom salt on so they can dry and not get all over.

coat the item (here my pumpkins) in the ModPodge.

Hint: The more modpodge, the more Epsom salt will stick to it
Roll your item around in the tray. Use a spoon to help cover it completely
You will see it start to sparkle immediately!

Coat your candle in ModPodge (I chose to only go 3/4 the way up my candle) You can put on as much or as little as you want!

Again, Roll it in the Epsom Salt and use your spoon to help

You can still see the different color of pumpkins coming through

I think this would be pretty if you group some candles together and add candle holders and give as a shower or wedding gifts. (and of course good gifts for Christmas, teachers, housewarming)

T-shirt Scarf

I made this with Jersey Knit or you can also use an old t-shirt. I cut 5 in. strips and folded them accordian style into 5 in. squares and cut them witht my Bigz Square Scallop Die in my Big Shot. It was fast and easy! I then put them on a diagonal and sewed them with a zigzag stich. Thats it! I even went to Salvation Army and found a pretty tie dye shirt and made one for my daughter, she loves it!

Owl Punch Class

These are the items we made in my Owl Punch class, 4 cards and a bookmark. It's just amazing all the "critters" you can make with this adorable punch! I just love him, I think he's my favorite! And I think the google eyes give it some personality too!

One Sheet Wonder Class

We made all these cards out of ONE (1) 12x12 sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP). I used the Build A Bear Workshop paper. I thought it was very summery (is that a word? lol) and cute!

Durring this class we made 10 cards (and had paper left over), however there are templates out there where you can make 16 cards. I did a search on Google and Split Coast Stampers for "One Sheet Wonder Templates".

If I can ever figure out how to add a PDF link, i'll post them here. I do not take any credit for the templates & directions...

Altered Clear Mount Stamp Case

This Old Olive & Very Vanilla one is mine (hence the letter "K")

I added a pocket to the inside for receipts or other things I gather.

I attached it with stickey back velcro circles (purchased at Wal-mart). This way if I want to swap out colors, I can just pull it off and put on a new color!

This pretty pink Owl Punch Notebook Holder is super cute and super girly! I didn't have a punch or Big Shot die to cut a branch for her to stand on, so I used the 'brush' end of the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker and Old Olive to make the leaves. I am certainly NOT an artist, so if I can do this, SO CAN YOU!

This Cherry Cobbler & Very Vanilla one is very simple and pretty with the ribbon added to the side. On the insde I just added a scallop circle punch to the center to give it a

little added extra something

If you have any questions on how to make these let me know! It's really simple and most important inexpensive. They come in a package of 4 (about $1.25 ea) and uses as little as one piece of Designer Series Paper per case!

...what a great gift for mothers day...hint ~ wink ;)

I made one for my husband for his Christmas stocking and he actually uses it (He writes lists for everything!) and I added a picture of our little girl to the front of his.

My First Cake Pops

Well I decided to make Cake Pops for my daughters playgroup Halloween Party...I wanted to make pumpkin ones, but they didnt turn out so pretty...And I also ran out of orange chocolates....SO I went to the store and all they had left was white, so I decided on Ghost Cake Pops. They are still not very pretty....but they taste good and thats what counts!

The problem I had was that the cake kept sliding down the stick, no matter how long I had chilled them prior to dipping them into the chocolate...I'm gonna have to see if I can remedy that somehow...Maybe by melting a little chocolate and dipping the stick into it before I stick it into the cake as glue? just a thought....

Googly Eye Bracelets...TY Martha!

I saw these on the Martha Stewart show the other day and thought they were super cute! So I HAD to try it! I added a little bling to mine though...I found wood bangle braceletsand painted them with some Pewter acrylic paint that I already had. Then used E6000 glue to stick it all on...warning: if you use that glue, make sure you open a window! Tip: I took a wooden dowel and put masking tape onto the end of it inside out so it was easy to pick up the eyes and stick them to the glue so my fingers wouldn't get nasty. (Martha used bees wax, I don't have that...lol). I just love the way they turned out!

Ugly Plastic Container...Now Pretty!

STOP! Don't throw out those plastic containers that you get your fruits and veggies in! (i.e. Strawberries, Blueberries, Tomato's, Etc.). Let's Recycle it instead!

First I'd like to thank Kerry's Paper Crafting Blog for this great idea!

The container I used is a blueberry container, so it's a little thiner than others. But it's still perfect enough to fit some wonderful little suprises inside. I put a gift card next to it so you can see the size. I think it would be a perfect fit for a gift card and some chocolates.

The larger/deeper ones are great to put some votive candles in. Great for Christams, Birthdays, Teachers Gifts...Just use your imagination!

This great weather has put me in the mood for autumn! I love that time of year best!

This "Quilt Card" as I'm going to call it, is made with the Curly Label Punch, More Mustard & Cajun Craze Card Stock, & Autumn Spice Speciality Designer Series Paper (available in the new Holiday Mini) I used Old Olive Ribbon.

This next card is made with the Autumn Harvest stamp set (available in the Big Catalog). I used a watercolor technique on the leaves to make them look like "fall". I think the pumpkin is just super cute & happy!

Clear Mount Stamps by stampin' Up!

Baby Wipe Case

This one turned out much better! I'd even give it as a gift! LOL

Not sure if you can see it, but there is a bit of silver "glitter" running through the fabric. I also added a pretty button, but in the pitcure it blends in a lot. Click on the picture to get a better view.

I also bought this fabric in blue and brown (in case someone has a boy)

Measurements:
Top - 9 x 5 inches
Bottom - 9.25 x 5.25 inches

I bought a 1/4 yd. of fabric, and probably get 3 or 4 cases from it! cost just over $1.00
The baby wipe case cost $1.27 at Wal-Mart (Huggies Brand)
Ribbon is 3/8" wide and cost $1.97 per roll. You can prob. get about 3-4 cases out of one roll.

So this is a very economical way to give a gift! Less than $5.00!

On this one i added a bit of thin batting to the top and spray glued it on. It looks much better than without it.

Ribbon Buckle Organizer

I originally saw this posted on the Cricut thread by Kimberly "SentimentalScrapper". You can check out her blog here. She used her Gypsy, but since I don't have one of those, I used my Design Studio program instead. You can go to the side bar and find the Design Studio .cut file for this.

I made my ribbons go from this unorganized mess (and hard to travel with).

To This! I used a 12x12 sheet of cardboard that a friend gave me. I will buy a large album/binder ring to hang them on.

I also have all of these ribbons! (I Love Ribbon)! I bought this from my local Scrapbopok Store when they went out of business. As you can see, I should have bought two of them...

Boutique Style Baby Wipe Case

This is my first try, and it came out a little sloppy. So I'll have to do another one...Guess I'm keeping this one! LOL I got this idea off YouTube (love the videos on there! Can't get enough!)

It was pretty easy, you just have to take your time and be really careful with the glue. Just YouTube Custom Baby Wipe Case and you should be able to find several videos.

Next time I'm going to put some batting or an extra piece of fabric on the top to hide the pop opening a little better.

These make great baby shower gifts. Also, great to take to the beach or on vacation or just keep in the car. The great thing is that you can customize it to your design style! YEAH!

Hot Glue Gun Holder

Look what my husband made for me! I'm not the only creative one in the house! LOL

I just need to paint, embelish, or Mod Podge it and bling it up now.

But man does this help my table from having those little glue dots all over it. And it keeps it standing up! I don't know about you, but mine used to fall over (and off the table sometimes) all the time! What a pain it was! But now I've got this cool little gadget from my sweet hubbie! Thanks Babe! Love Ya! 50 Blows & Sucks

I had to make a gift for the guy who owns the Barber Shop where my husband works. I know that he loves beer, so this is what I cam up with. I put Blow Pops and Dum Dums in it. One side says 50 Blows, the other side 50 Sucks. The beer mug was less than $2 at walmart! WOO HOO!

I had to make this kinda quick. I would have liked to etch the mug with his initials in it or the name of the Barber Shop. (Hey that's a good idea for christmas! LOL) I'm thinking ahead now!

Spring Wreath - Cricut

I was thinking spring! I wanted something pretty for my front door this spring.

I created this 12" styrofoam wreath into something beautiful. About 70 flowers (about 210 cuts on my cricut) and about 16 or so hot glue sticks later, this is what the completed project looks like. I used pearl ended corsage pins as the center and to hold it in place on the foam wreath.

I used the George and Basic Shapes sized at 2 1/2" for the flowers (flower2 black out shadow) and the Plantain SchoolBook for the leave,s cut at 2 1/4".

The paper is Basil Basics Bling.

Paper Flower Suckers

-These sweet flowers were made using my Cricut cartridge George & Basic Shapes. Use the 5 petal flower on Shadow Blackout (flower2). Cut at 2.5" (you can get 12 flowers on a 12x12 page).

-You will need to cut out 2 flowers for each sucker.

-The bottom part of the flower you will cut an 'X' by floding it lightly in the center and cutting a small slit and fold in half the other way anc cutting a small slit.

-Then take a dowel rod or chop stick or something small and round and curl the top edge of the flowers over 9be careful...it is paper and can rip.

-The center part of the paper floewr you will cut off 1 petal and fold them into each other to make a cone shape. i hot glue my petals together. (be careful if you do this...it's HOT glue). I then snip a small hole in the bottom of the cone and insert my sucker.

-I put a small amount of hot glue in the bottom of the come shape area and insert it into the center of the 'X' that you cut earlier, and press them together (again be careful...it's hot).

-For the "leaf" tie a gree ribbon in a double knot around the "stem" sucker.

If you can find one of these...hurry quick and buy it! They are in large demand and kinda hard to find these days. I bought mine at Michael's and I had a 45% off coupon ! WOO HOO!

But this is a great tool for anyone who likes to make cards, boxes, and it even gives a template to make envelopes! YEAH!

The board holds a 12x12 piece of paper and you can score every 1/8 inch without moving your paper. It comes with a Scoring tool and an envelope template. And the great news is this board retails for only $19.99! In my opion this is a great buy.

I'm so bummed! I made the cutest Baby Word Book and forgot to take a picture before I gave it as a gift...*snif*

It was done in Hot Pink, Black, and White. Very elegant looking and I got TONS of compliments on it!

Maybe i'll ask her to bring it to church so I can take a picture of it.

Edible Vase

I made this for my husband for Valentines Day this year.

I carefully hot glued the Hershey bars together and added my embelishments made from Cricut cartridges Keystone and George & Basic Shapes. I added glitter glue to the edge and Pop Dots to the flowers to make them stand out more and it's hot glued to a dowel rod cut to size.

Paint Chip Cards

Ever wonder what to do with those paint chips you get and then have left over from your home improvement projects? Here are cute cards that can be made!
(I found this idea online at http://gomakesomething.com/ht/recycled/punchedpaintchips/). So here is my version.

Materials:

-For this project, I used large Olympic paint chips. (you can also use Behr or other brands) They’re large enough to make a nice-sized card front.
-Glue Stick

-Glue Zots (small)

-Ribbon (7"long) any width you desire

-Pre-stick crystals (color or clear)

-Fower Punch (1")

-8.8x 11 Card Stock (cut in half to 5.5x4.25) (score at 4.25)

-Bone Folder

-Tweezers
If you want, you can remove the print from the card use a white Staedtler Mars plastic eraser. The printing on most paint chips can be rubbed away with this eraser, leaving nothing but a slightly duller spot behind. (I did not do this)

Punch shapes from each colored section.

To create the card, cut an 8.5x11 piece of cardstock in half (Cut at 5.5).

Score at 4.25 and fold with bone folder for crisp line

The final size of your folded card is 5.5x4.25

You can trim around the unfolded sides to remove the extra cardstock, however I did not. In order to save time, I just added a decorative ribbon instead.

Apply Glue stick to the back of your paint chip

And apply Glue Zots to the backs of the punched shapes, and arrange them on the card front.

Some shapes can be fairly delicate, so use tweezers or a bamboo skewer to apply dots of Tacky glue to the backs.

Apply a tiny acrylic rhinestone to the center of each flower.This is the erasers I bought to remove the words on the paint chips.

Summer Yellow Flowers (Qty 2 available): This summery fabric is light yellow with a floral print throught. Plain white bottom would be a perfect place to embrioder a name.

Teal Pattern (Qty, 2 available): This fabric is mostly blues, with lime green and chocolate brown to compliment. You can choose from Brown, Teal or Lime Green ties to set this dress off.

Sage Green: This is a plain sage green fabric. This would be perfect with something monogrammed on the center chest area such as a letter, or even a name embroidered on the bottom. (extra charge for embroidering). Your choice of color for the ties.
