Homemade Treat Stand

I've been wanting to do this since I saw it on Pintrest last year :)
This is the pic of them at my daughters 5th birthday party

I've had the candle sticks for 12 years but dont use them (ok well here's the thing, these were a gift to my husband years ago from an ex...and I dont like them, nor do they go with anything we have)
So why not make something cute out of them?
I went to the Salvation Army and got 2 plates ($.98 ea) When I got home I cleaned them really good.

I also cleaned up the candle stick (it was pretty dusty)
They had a little poker sticking up in the center that I unscrewed to make it flat

I used E6000 glue to glue the candlestick to the plate. The easy thing about this project was that the plates were clear so I could easily center the plate when gluing them together.

I then turned it over to dry (the candle stick was very heavy) and thought gravity might help it along. This glue dries pretty fast.

I first sprayed the bottom of the stand. I put 3 light coats on it, so it wouldn't run.

Then I flipped it over and put 3 light coats on the top

Here is the finished product! It turned out super cute

This is the paint I used.
