DIY Chandelier

I'm SOOOO excited about this project! It cost me all of $3.00! WOOT!

I was talking to a lady at church and I told her I was going to go to the Re-Store and buy a chandelier so I can spray paint it for my daughters room. She said that her neighbor gave her one and she didn't want or need it and I could have it (for FREE!)....Here it is below.  I'm sure it was lovely when it was new, But the paint and crystals were very dull and dirty. I cleaned the crystals in vinegar and warm water and left them on a towel to dry. I had my friend Kelly come over and help (ok so she really did the work) and paint it since she had been on a roll painting her brass fixtures in her house, I figured she was a pro :)

We set up a ladder with a tarp and cardboard to keep the spray paint as contained as possible.

This is a pic of Kelly spraying it Lime Green!

Putting the crystals back on Kelly helped with this part too ;)

We also got the celing medalion for free from a job my husband is doing :)
Kelly also took down the old light and put up the new one! YEAH KELLY! My husband was happy he didn't have to do it :)

I think I may get some small lamp shades for it. But it's up and working and I think SUPER CUTE!

As you can see from my daughters beadspread that I choose the lime green as the accent color. her curtains and small lamp on her dresser are all the lime green. Now if only I could find a bedskirt in that color...
A big thanks to Kelly for helping me with this project! You can check out her blog over HERE
